Sustainable Knowledge Corridor

img-sustainability

The Sustainable Knowledge Corridor (SKC) defines the region stretching between Hartford and the Pioneer Valley, following I-91 and the Connecticut River.  Through a grant from the federal Housing and Urban Development program this area was allowed to develop a new sustainable regional plan.  This plan would be developed and implemented over a three year period.

Our role during the first year of the project, which was completed in June 2012, was to meet with organizations in the area and gather their input into what a sustainable community would mean to them.  Specifically, our goal was to meet with organizations whose members represent communities not traditionally approached during planning processes.
